What’s Love?

Love is defined by “a variety of different feelings, states, and attitudes that ranges from interpersonal affection to pleasure.” It is divided into four parts: “kinship or familiarity, friendship, sexual or romantic desire, and self-emptying or divine love. “
Love is a kind of emotion about care, loyalty, and goodwill. Of course we can love many people at same time, such as family, friends, lovers, etc. However, I think human beings should obey monogamy in romantic love. Love in the story Killing Alec, belongs to romantic love, but it is described ridiculously. The narrator reveals that Alec loves all of five girls. Besides, in the appellation “our Alec,” I realize that girls seem like loving exclusively but they also would like to share Alec’s love. They permit polygamy in their subconsciousness, which is ridiculous in a civilized society.

Love can be shared in familiarity or friendship, but not for romantic desire. In my perspective, romantic love should be monogamy. Monogamy is better for people’s relationships in marriage, and it is improving females’ status as well.
